As water becomes more scarce, will its price increase?

economic standpoint, water normal (more specifically, necessity good). thus, if water becoming more scarce (the quantity decreasing), can expect price increase. population increase affect it; more demand , more scarcity means richest demanders of able obtain it.

i'm not sure if question factually pertains real world, though. others have mentioned, desalination useful method creating more fresh water. anyway, hope helps!
