label trying convey, particular cfl lamp produces equivalent light lumens incandescent lamp of 50/100/150 watts, yet consumes 15/26/40 watts.
amount of light bulb produces expressed in 'lumens', , amount of power consumption expressed in 'watts'.
greater light produced lesser power consumption more efficient bulb.
1 thing consider not common knowledge, cfl bulbs contain mercury , must disposed of in accordance epa laws, , dangerous if broken.

the package of twilight (3-way) cfl bulb purchased states following: 50/100/150w uses 15/26/40w. thought 100w incandescent = 23w cfl , 120w incandescent = 26w cfl.
