Why is my dracaena house plants leaves turning yellow?

have had plant 6 or 7 months. , noticed new bottom leaves pail yellow , droopy. top leaves, of them have brown tips. water every week. doesn't have light time. there 2 windows on each side of don't seem put in light. told don't need much. used have little fertilizer sticks put in soil took them out because read don't need it. know why happening because don't want die please help
