Type of tree that sounds hollow when knock it?

in jamaica there tree called trumpet, effect. has broad 5-point leaves on long rounded stems, , whitish bark. tends grow straight few branches. can't recall botanical name used lumber.

so went on hike yesterday other people , nature guide. came tree , explained when "knock" on tree sounds hollow. cant remember name of tree. think "white" or "yellow" "bass" oak. know?
