Homeschooling: What's the deal with it?

have 6 , 9 year old. both boys. i'm researching homeschooling , want hear opinions it. i've been pro public schooling. still am, seeing benefits of home schooling research it. scares me think doing it, work part-time home , believe capable of long had strong support system in place. 1 of children positive benefit it. other one, i'm not sure it's right choice him. considering doing different both of them. what's opinion on or have experiences it?
