Help- Confused about tax refund?

hello,

i’m 17 year old student, got first job summer @ primark , still working there. however, during summer found part-time job in call centre. worked there month , abruptly dismissed (rather unfairly think). employer offered me opportunity stay on cancelled on me last minute , said call me in months’ time. never heard him again.

whilst working @ primark, have noticed despite doing longer shifts have been getting considerably less else. until colleague pointed out me half wage being deducted realised getting taxed £137 month. has accumulated approx £1000 since summer. primark has told me since under 18 should able claim amount back.

have rang hmrc several times tax code changed. still believe work call centre , need me send them p45. can’t through previous employer since ignoring of calls , emails. he’s not type of person willing cooperate (he dismissed colleague once without paying him) , don’t believe going give me p45.

don’t know do, confused. shouldn’t fact under 18 sufficient tax refund? never through previous employer there not way around this? hrmc have suggested write them can investigate. have read many cases haven’t done much. shall do?
