I really want to be on Broadway.?
hey jannel. if you're serious wanting on broadway need start understand professional acting business. need learn industry , how things work if want succeed. no 1 going offer broadway role because of youtube channel.
people invest lot of money in broadway productions , they're going trust investment trained , experienced professionals. had better have quality training in acting, voice , dance. you'll need experience on stage. it's helpful if have talent agent. talent agents go between casting director , actor. talent agents paid percentage of clients make. (never pay agent front.) since they're paid if clients paid, picky take on clients. you'll need convince agent have talent, training, , experience book jobs.
you'll have understand actor unions. actors equity association (aea) union stage actors. auditions broadway shows governed equity. there 3 types of theatre auditions: (1) agent appointments; (2) required union casting calls (ecc/epa), , (3) open calls. since don't have agent, you'll have other two.
should know difference between required union casting call (ecc/epa) , open calls. equity chorus calls (ecc) roles chorus. equity principal auditions (epa) principal role. open calls epa roles happen every 6 months per equity. equity members priority on non-union actors , can sign first (actors seen in order). non union performers seen after equity performers have been seen. i'm assuming you're not equity actor understand wait around day audition , still never in audition.
open calls open calls (aka cattle calls). there no difference between union , non-union actors in terms of audition order. , tons of people show up. again - wait in line day , not audition. backstage.com 1 place can find auditions.
