Need help from a computer expert for running Pc Games?

have bought fx4100 3.6ghz, when ever trying play games use play former processor (phenom x2), games lags lot, gets hang. using same video card using (nvidia gt9500 pci-e).

previous configuration

processor - amd phenom x2 3ghz
motherboard - asus m2n68-am plus
hdd - 250gb
ram - 2gb ddr2
videocard - nvidia gt9500 pci-e
os - xp/window 7

new configuration:

processor - amd fx4100
motherboard -gigabyte 78lmt-ss2pt
hdd - 1000gb
ram - 4gb ddr3
videocard - nvidia gt9500 pci-e gb
os - xp/window 7

isnt better configuration? inspite of games crysis 2, saint row3, ghostrecon future soldier hangs , lags. if problem video card how did these run smoothly on previous configuration (in medium graphics quality) ? have formatted hdd , re install os (window 7), didnt worked. problem occurs not getting it.
