Why is some military fighter jet flame blue in color?

when hydrocarbons burn (cooking gas/alcohol/petrol/jet fuel...) produce yellow/orange flame in limited oxygen , blue/near-transparent flame surplus of oxygen.

if "some" referring raptor guess thing factors in too. that's quite small exhaust nozzle produce gas stream of higher surface area compared it's volume. allows fuel vapors in stream more oxygen , burn completely, producing blue flame. :-)
