What would cause my 93 Plymouth Duster to smoke?

not losing coolant. car not hot in extreme hot conditions in texas weather. undercarriage of car coated in thick black oil along oil pan , surrounding areas. have been using pennzoil 5w 30 ok? or should use 10w 30 since older vehicle? car smokes when idling. far can tell not while being driven unless amount not enough visible see.

93 plymouth duster 3.0l 6 speed manual transmission. white smoke comes out of tail pipe. believe means burning oil. have replace oil there never oil on ground after being parked. not leaking out.
