Why do people like coffee so much if it literally tastes like dirt?

no joke....[oh, , yes know dirt tastes like. tried eat couple times when little kid , plus have accidentally swallowed dust , stuff before]

why people enjoy it? it's bitter , dirty-tasting.
understand why might need stay awake or (it's cheap, guess), why drink dog sh*t recreation? lot of younger kids (middle school , elementary school age) seem flavor well!

i'm kind of person eats , likes whatever eat (supposing it's quality , edible), coffee gross.
