Should i offer a home to an 14 year old african grey parrot?

have friend looking give 14 year old african grey. believes girl. in poor state, pretty bald except head , given attention. i've owned conure , few budgies in past never parrot obvious baggage. can't thinking offer better home although work full time, home 5pm , live alone. not ideal situation better 1 living in. i'd grateful advice or anyone's experiences of taking on older parrot
