How to stop buying christmas presents for nieces and nephews?

husband , not have children have 16 nieces , nephews. needless holidays , birthdays expensive us. @ christmas, buy presents children, , our parents, our brothers , sisters not exchange presents. eventhough, not have our own children, because our combined families large, ones in our families have many children buy for. have decided not buying nieces , nephews christmas. having hard time coming terms decision, has been made. suggestions on how approach parents?
