This might sound silly.. but why did girls and women seem to have higher pitched voices years ago?

women have higher pitched voices men, testosterone affects vocal chords.

wonder whether throw radio days? radio going long before tv, maybe actresses encouraged have high pitched voices make clear listener lady speaking.

maybe in entertainment business, kind of lingered on bit , became 'the required vocal attribute , coming actresses'?

watching film set in '67 , speak high pitched.. girls sound blokes haha.. there reason?
