18years old boy and ballet dance, late?

recreational ballet of age. not late start ballet classes....however,
while men can start later, have never heard of professional male dancer started late , had career. in order have ballet career need born body, facility , musicality requires. need training , lot of in world class ballet academy screen of or wont train you. thing is, don't take dancers on age of 18 train in world class ballet academies. exclusively schools feeder schools major ballet companies. while can training recreational, hard find real professional level class. recreational training not same , often, taught women don't know men need train bit differently. don't have skills pass on dance career. takes 10 years "make leg" in dance. while competition among men isn't great women, still have have technique , takes time , need years put aside taking 20-30 hours week year round train. if right training. need find school has men's classes.
being said, if ballet passion, find adult beginner ballet class. top ballet academies offer open classes these. if live near major ballet company, see if offer open adult classes in feeder school not part of professional training program. place start , getting better training in small recreational dance studio. may have men's class when past beginner level. says have paid enjoy dance? dancers paid poorly , careers on in flash. dance joy of dance , dance can part of life.
* there other types of dance men starting late can make career out of if have right gifts , training. starts ballet training in either cease. while ballet career not you, don't rule out contemporary/modern dance once gain ballet skills. knows, may find niche there.
