Musicians:Have you ever played in a "bad neighborhood"?

hell yes.
i've played everywhere "high end" places hollywood h.o.b. (like disneyland w/music) scary *** dives in south central l.a., riverside, bakersfield... places tough that, in words or ronnie hawkins, had puke twice , show razor in ;) spence, **** can go down anywhere, when mix in alcohol , men competing women. use common sense , you'll fine- don't take anymore cash need, , don't flash around. don't take more gear (and folks) can carry in 1 trip unless can offload @ door. don't take high end guitars. guitarist, have made; guitars make excellent "equalizers". harps? not much. 1 time thought idea hold 1 in fist brass knuckles-tore hand bad!

there place known blues players area play , not in best part of town

parants me im afraid guitars or money. know musicians in chicago used tp carry guns , knives dont think extreme
