when comes reliability in family trees none should trusted until verify information documents/records. there lots of websites, have family trees , records. information in family trees should never never never regarded record until have verified actual records. true of websites charge ancestry.com , free websites. ancestry.com has lots of original source records ads extremely misleading when points family tree. if read introductory information tell not guarantee accuracy in family trees. when see absolute same info on same people many different subscribers doesn't mean information accurate many people copy without verifying. if happen find of family in 1 family tree , see wrong information run websites tell between , other subscriber. don't involved. costly them hire people verify information subscribers submit. have had experience ancestry.com. have lot of helpful records. if live 4000 miles away family records can save lot of money. if don't have copy of original image write county involved or state library , copy cheaper can pay gasoline traveling, eating out expenses , hotel or motel expenses. great website lots of records https://familysearch.org/ entirely free. use both websites 1 have record other 1 doesn't. when go ancestry.com after click on search on left on next page click on old search on right in small fonts toward top. feel format of old search far superior new search , format of familysearch.org. many public libraries have subscription ancestry.com can use free.

copying others have in family trees not genealogy , there lot of trashy genealogy out there today due online family trees.

however, before start on internet information living family possible. find out has old family bibles, old photos, old birth, marriage , death certificates. dependiing on religious faith baptismal, confirmation, marriage certifiates church can helpful if not more civil records. interview senior family members , tape them if let you. chances telling stories of days gone wouldn't write down in stories clues if go periodially , listen tapes again. hear things didn't hear first time around.
