Alcohal is a future fuel?

ethanol being used automobile fuel. sold 10% ethanol 90% petrol mix, e10, 20% e/p mix e20 , 100% ethanol. slight modification of standard petrol engine required convert pure ethanol use. e10 , e20 can used in modern cars without ill effect. in brazil many years fuel of choice ethanol. product of sugar cane industry , cheaper imported petrol. things have changed there recently.

when ethanol produced via typical high energy intensive agriculture done in [via corn] may not sensible. ethanol can produced product of various industries using existing waste streams. can made sugars , starches grown on marginal , waste land. both economically viable , environmentally sound.

fuel source not problematical @ all. if done bit of thought can yield negative carbon footprint during fermentation off gasses on 90% co2 , hence relatively sequestered. readily available technology can this.
