Do south Koreans feel bad or sorry for North Koreans?

ed right complicated. foreign teacher living in korea, , have been trying figure out mixed results. live in south of south korea no 1 here has split family north, more common around seoul , places closer border. older generation love north koreans in general , blame government 100% has happened. hear people starving , breaks heart since south rich. younger generation (my students , recent grads) not have of connection since north korea has been awful country threatening them , fighting them whole lives. somewhere wants take them on yet south sends them millions in aid. time goes on , people remember korea 1 country die off think rift bigger in people's minds. hard sympathetic country has been threatening while taking millions in tax funded aid without memory of unity.
