How do people get into commercials?

through talent agent. companies invest lot of money productions , trust investment trained , experienced professionals auditions arranged through talent agent. professional acting business - involves casting directors, talent agents, industry contracts, acting unions standard things auditions, training, experience, resumes , head shots.

talent agent go between casting director , actor. represent actor , paid percentage of client paid. (never pay agent front.) since paid if clients paid, agents picky take on clients. , can picky because there lot more people wanting actors there parts. can't go out , hire agent -- have have enough talent, training , experience catch attention of agent. agents looking people book jobs. casting director writes "breakdown" (a description of roles want cast.) breakdowns released talent agents , managers review breakdowns , submit clients appropriate roles , work client's auditions.

if know casting director commercial/production company can "self submit". means sending in head shot , acting resume directly casting director without agent. it's long shot - you're need head shot (and happen they're looking for) , resume indicates have training , experience know you're doing. casting directors not interested in training people have audition or make commercial - have better ways of spending time , money (and there many actors know that).

networking can play part. if or parents knew owned business , making commercial - maybe they'd interested in hiring it. (that's best way of getting 1 if don't have agent.)

start getting training , experience. there classes geared toward auditioning , acting in commercials. there talent agents specialize in booking commercials. need training, experience (school plays or whatever can in area) , (or parents) need research understand industry in area. there lot of scams , ripoffs out there - have understand how things work in order make sure people don't take advantage of you.

we're talking pretty big investment of time, effort , money (without guarantee of return on investment). isn't can fall (unless said know business owner wants put in commercial).
