Ideal gas law problems?
pv = nrt , n = m / m, can write pv = mrt / m .... m mass , m molar mass
pv = mrt / m
m = mrt / pv
m = 2.1g x 62.4ltorr/molk x 298k / 750 torr / 1.72l
m = 30. g/mol .... 2 significant figures
use value of r fits problem
r = 0.0821 latm/mol k ..... when p in atm
r = 62.4 ltorr/molk ..... when p in torr or mm hg (they interchangeable)
r = 8.314 lkpa/molk .... when p in kpa
what molecular mass of gas if 2.1 g of gas occupies volume of 1.72 l @ 25 degrees celcius , 750 mm hg???" please show solutions....
