My sons behaviour at school is out of control?

son attends high school , first term there wonderful.very report etc when returned after xmas in jan behaviour has gone down hill.he has detentions days , on third report.hes not bad kid @ , nice loving family.im @ wits end all.i have tried liason best can school although school lack of communication below parr.i want wots best son.wot can fo parent , wot should school doing plz x
