How to change firefox's default search engine?

program messed firefox search, when right click on things highlighted says "search yahoo" don't want search yahoo, want search google. when happens, go about:config , change browser.search.defaultenginename google. right saying yahoo there , won't let me change google. click on it, , put google in box, won't change. how change search google??
