In a 12 day vacation how much should I stay in istanbul?

depends on how many cities want visit in 12 days, , kind of holiday looking , when.

can't swim or ski in istanbul, instance. if want beach-sand-sun or skiing kind of holiday, i'd spend 3-4 days in istanbul , pass city (or cities). @ istanbul london or new york. great nightclubs, great historical places, plenty of things it's big city no swimming or skiing. (other swimming pools of course)
