Weird animal sound during late night?

since moved new apartment maybe once or twice week late @ night 1230-1am later hear disturbing animal sound in field near house. sounds cow or bull whimpering..and grunts sometimes. lasts few seconds or minutes. there no farms close apt or fenced in animals, hear coyotes lot different. live in connecticut if helps.
