Hard disk drive is missing. How to recover it?

laptop has 2 drives c(14gb) drive , d(283gb) drive. os in c drive. since yesterday d drive has gone missing. when go disk management shows 283gb space,but no letter assigned it. when try assign, says diskmanagement console out of date. so, used easeus partition recovery. files intact have no sufficient space move data data shows 160 odd gb , laptop has 14gb. 283 gb unaccounted for. how can copy files 283gb partition. please help. thank you.
