Christmas gifts for soccer players?

okay, dad asked me want christmas considering getting gift 1 of friends plays soccer well. i've been on long-term leave on playing soccer knee problem kept getting worse, i'm getting acl & meniscus surgery here in week in few days. thing ask or buy friend? plan on rejoining soccer next year fall if i'm allowed or spring 2013. want encouraging. thinking of soccer ipod touch case, soccer earrings, , soccer key chain i'm not sure... want ipod case though, , plan on making small poster using graphic skills whip awesome soccer poster friend. ideas? thanks
